About the course

Biomedical engineers make a difference in community and global health. You?ll learn to create new materials, devices, algorithms and processes that assist doctors and medical researchers with prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and conditions. With an optional paid cooperative internship, an optional specialization in Management Sciences, leading-edge research projects and a biomedical invention team project, you?ll graduate with the skills needed to transform lives in emerging areas of health care or clinical engineering.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Toronto Metropolitan University

Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma must present grades of 4 or higher in three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects with a grade total of 28 or higher. Subject to competition, applicants may be required to present averages/grades above the minimum. IB Higher Levels with grades of 5 or higher may be considered for transfer credit on an individual basis. Engineering students are not eligible for transfer credits for core and professional engineering courses using IB subjects. IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL ibt: 83-87, TOEFL pbt: 560.

  The basis of admission to Ryerson's undergraduate engineering programs is the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with six grade 12 U/M courses including competitive grades in the prerequisite subjects: English (ENG4U/EAE4U), Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U), Chemistry (SCH4U), and Physics (SPH4U). Admission is based on competitive grades in program-specific subject requirements and competitive overall admission averages.
