About the course

Students who achieve excellent academic performance in their accounting studies will be eligible to apply for the Honours year.

  The program extends undergraduate studies in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation. Students undertake advanced coursework and a research thesis. Classes are conducted in a seminar setting. Students will have the opportunity to interact with research active academic staff, engage in the analysis of advanced accounting issues, and develop critical thinking skills.

  Students aspiring to the Honours program should consult the Honours Convenor in the Research School of Accounting for advice. Students from other universities can also apply for entry.

  Learning Outcomes

  Integrate theoretical and technical accounting knowledge in a business context, including issues in accounting research.

  Exercise judgement under supervision to provide possible solutions to emerging and advanced accounting problems in contemporary contexts using where appropriate social, ethical, economic, regulatory, sustainability, governance and/or global perspectives.

  Critically apply theoretical and technical accounting knowledge and skills to analyse and provide possible solutions to emerging accounting problems and to conduct a research-based project. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships

How to apply

Entry requirements for The Australian National University

all applicants must meet program-specific academic/non-academic requirements, and English language requirements. Admission to ANU is on a competitive basis as the number of places available in a program is limited. Admission to Honours is also subject to supervisory capacity and approval from the relevant Delegated Authority within the Academic College.

  An AQF Level 7 Bachelor Degree, or international equivalent, completed within the last two years.

  Academic IELTS - An overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component of the test

  TOEFL PBT - A score of 570 with a TWE score of 4.5

  TOEFL iBT - An overall score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening.
