Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws

About the course

Pursue your interests in business and law through our Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws program and graduate with two degrees that will open doors to excellent career prospects in both fields. This degree is for students wishing to develop a foundational knowledge of law, with the commercial, technical and management skills to launch your career as a legal practitioner, or step into the business world where a law degree is highly regarded.

The Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws is a combined undergraduate coursework degree that provides a pathway to legal practice.

The degree provides comprehensive grounding in business operations (including accounting, management, analytics) and an understanding of business in the wider society (including strategy and impact). It hones your analytical skills to think independently and to form and articulate factual and legal analysis based on argument and evidence, and to solve multi-faceted problems.

You will study the Bachelor of Commerce concurrently with Bachelor of Laws junior core requirements. Bachelor of Commerce requirements include core foundational units in commerce and a major from the Business School disciplinary pool with a Business School capstone unit, along with units from the Open Learning Environment and elective units as required from the disciplinary pool (Business School) or the Shared Pool (other Faculties).

After meeting the requirements of the Bachelor of Commerce, you will progress to the Bachelor of Laws, completing a number of senior core and elective units from the Sydney Law School Undergraduate Table in a specific sequence.

The elective units will include at least one jurisprudence elective, and in your final year of the Bachelor of Laws you will have the option to complete advanced coursework and an honours thesis. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
