About the course
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Rochester is a research oriented department with a strong interest in preparing the next generation of mathematicians, scientists, and engineers for successful careers in industry, research, and business. The undergraduate program also includes a joint BA in mathematics and statistics, a math minor, a certificate in actuarial studies, a certificate in mathematical modeling in political science and economics and a joint 41 master?s program with the Warner School of Education. Our undergraduate program was created to prepare the next generation of mathematicians, engineers, and scientists for successful careers in industry, research, and business. The departments of Mathematics and Philosophy have made it easier and rewarding for Mathematics majors to pick up a minor in Philosophy. By taking Philosophy courses designated as allied field courses for the Math major and/or cross-listed in Math and Philosophy, it is possible to add a Minor in Philosophy to your Math major with as few as 3 additional courses.
