About the course

The University?s Mathematics program is designed to prepare the student for graduate work in applied mathematics and allied areas, careers in industry (actuarial and quantitative areas of biological and social sciences) and government employment. Depending on their professional aspirations and career plans, students can choose either a BS or BA degree.

  Both degree programs in Mathematics require Computer Science 101 and 102. Students may take additional mathematics electives, those who intend to go to graduate school are advised to obtain competence in a foreign language and to elect one or more 400-level mathematics courses.

  Learning Outcomes

  By completing the BA or BS in Mathematics, students will:

  have learned fundamental knowledge of Mathematics and be prepared to pursue graduate study or to work as professional mathematicians

  have well-developed quantitative and analytical skills

  be able to use skills in mathematical reasoning and critical thinking to understand and analyze phenomena of nature, modern science and society

  be able to make inferences from data and to communicate, prove and justify their findings

Entry requirements for University of Bridgeport

For applicants who have not yet received their secondary or high school certificate/diploma Submit official/notarized/certified/or attested copies of ALL senior secondary/high school records. This includes mark sheets, academic transcripts, final examination results, diplomas, and degree certificates such as Std. X (SSC), Std. XII (HSC), O Levels, A Levels, WAEC, CXC, IB, etc.

  For applicants who have attended any post-secondary institution (college/university) Submit official/notarized/attested/or certified copies of senior secondary/high school records (see above) and ALL post-secondary school (university/college) records. This includes mark sheets, academic transcripts, examination result, diplomas, and degree certificates.TOEFL score of 75 (IBT) or an IELTS score of 6.0.
