About the course
By pursuing legal studies at UMass Amherst, you?ll study the interrelationship between law, politics, and society in American, foreign, and international contexts.Here, you?ll build critical thinking, conflict resolution, and communication skills as you study law within a liberal arts framework. You can focus your studies by earning Letters of Specialization in areas such as comparative and international law, conflict resolution, constitutional law, data analytics, and social justice. You?ll work ly with faculty who are top teachers and researchers and experts in human trafficking, judicial decision making, immigration, legal policymaking, and more. Gain hands-on experience through our robust internship program in the Massachusetts trial and appellate court systems, district attorneys? offices, private law firms, public interest groups, mediation firms, law enforcement, legislators, and corporations. While some of our graduates attend law school, you?ll also be well prepared for careers in mediation, court administration, law enforcement, government, public interest, business, and education, or graduate school in other social science and humanities fields. Entry requirements for University of Massachusetts - Amherst
Official transcripts showing all secondary (high school) and post-secondary (if applicable) coursework, with official translations. We require either the SAT or ACT. We will accept both redesigned and old SAT results. TOEFL: A minimum composite TOEFL score of 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL with minimum of 17 on each subscore. IELTS: A minimum composite IELTS score of 6.5 on the academic test with minimum of 6.0 on each subscore (We will not accept paper IELTS test report forms).
