About the course
The Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences is a flexible degree plan that can support multiple career objectives. Required and elective biology courses are combined with a minor, a language requirement and university electives, allowing for the development of up to three specific areas of concentration within the major. Core course requirements are the same as for other degree plans, and various minor tracks are available. This degree plan is well-suited for students who wish to apply their scientific interests within another field, such as medical illustration, science writing, national security, or law, it is also appropriate for students intending to pursue careers in research or the health professions.
Biological sciences students use high-tech equipment to explore medical sciences, such as Hispanic cancer disparities within the Border Biomedical Research Center, in preparation for studies in medicine, animal sciences, pharmacy, dentistry or research. Students can choose from a B.S. or B.A. degree, which requires language coursework and a non-science minor. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
