About the course

The Associate of Arts is designed as the equivalent of the first half of a Baccalaureate Degree. This is a general plan and may or may not satisfy the requirements of a specific transfer university. Please check with your advisor for specific transfer requirements. The criminal justice pre-major is designed to provide students with a basic foundation in criminal justice. Students will gain a broad understanding of the historical and philosophical basis of criminal law as well as the substantive and procedural aspects. The jurisdiction, organization, function, and philosophy of state and federal court systems are examined. Correctional systems and police systems are studied.
