About the course
The associate in science degree in applied liberal arts is designed to prepare deaf and hard-of-hearing students to enter and successfully complete a bachelor?s degree in the College of Liberal Arts, which offers majors in advertising and public relations, applied modern language and culture, communication, criminal justice, digital humanities and social sciences, economics, international and global studies, journalism, museum studies, philosophy, political science, psychology, public policy, and sociology and anthropology. This program is only available to students seeking admission to the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. By the end of the first year, students choose a College of Liberal Arts major they wish to enroll in after completing the AS degree. During the second year, students take four professional courses in their chosen liberal arts major. In addition, as a part of their AS course work, students complete one mathematics and once science course to meet the graduation requirements of their major.

Submit an official high school transcript. RIT recognizes IB level work. Credit may be awarded for higher level examinations completed with a score of 5 or higher. TOEFL IBT - 79. IELTS - 6.5.
