About the course

The mission of the Artist Diploma in Instrumental Conducting or Performance is to: To stimulate the student's awareness and artistic creativity in the field of instrumental performance. To provide students public performance opportunities in a supportive and encouraging environment. To provide students with the performance skills necessary to allow them to pursue professional orchestra auditions, chamber music careers, national/international competitions, continued graduate study, and any other performance objectives necessary for a career as a classical instrumentalist.

　　Entrance to the program is limited to those individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skills in performance or conducting by audition. A fully enrolled student can complete the 18 credit hour program in one year. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships

How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Miami

Transcripts – an official transcript from ALL post-secondary schools attended, regardless of if a degree was granted or not, must be sent directly to the Frost School of Music from the issuing institution in order to be considered official. Applicants with international transcripts, please see below for specific instructions about approved evaluation services. An official transcript is required for every school attended, even if it was only a single class. Graduate applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA for consideration. TOEFL and IELTS scores are only valid for a period of two years. The Frost School of Music requires applicants to receive a minimum TOEFL score of 80 or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
