About the course

Patent law is a specialized area of law which is a subset of intellectual property law. An attorney must have a science background such as a degree in engineering, biology, chemistry or physics to become a registered patent attorney. Only registered patent attorneys can represent inventors seeking patents. Registration requires passing a special exam commonly called the Patent Bar Exam . How to apply

Entry requirements for Suffolk University - INTO USA

Applicants are required to take either the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).

　　You must submit transcripts for all collegiate, graduate and professional study. This is also how we receive your LSAT score(s). Official copies of transcripts for all collegiate, graduate and professional study by the applicant must be sent directly to LSAC from the college or graduate school.

　　Applicants who are still attending an undergraduate institution should submit all transcripts up to the most recent semester completed. All new students must provide a final transcript evidencing a bachelor's degree conferred. This is an ABA requirement.

　　Suffolk University Law School will accept scores from either the TOEFL or the IELTS for evaluation of English fluency. Applicants taking the TOEFL must submit a score of:

　　600 paper format,

　　250 CBT format, or,

　　100 on the new IBT format
