This looks a lot like the scene in the desert near my Arizona home, but there is something missing. Not going to say what, but that's a big clue.

It's a view of Mars, from Mars. What's missing, of course, is any sign of life. The photo was beamed to Earth from NASA's Opportunity rover this week. After almost three years, the rover reached this scene at the edge of the giant Endeavour crater.
