About the course
The Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences provides an integrated course of study for students seeking a PhD or MS degree in health-related research. Areas of strength include cell biology and cell signaling pathways, molecular biology and molecular medicine, genetics, biochemistry, developmental biology, cancer biology, neurobiology, cardiovascular biology, marine biology, molecular and population genetics, immunology, virology, reproductive biology and other biological and biomedical science disciplines.
Participating faculty members are drawn from a wide range of departments and research centers and institutes across the campus: they come from the John A. Burns School of Medicine Basic and Clinical Science Departments, the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, the College of Natural Sciences, and the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, the Pacific Biosciences Research Center, and the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology.
The Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Program also provides coursework and research training opportunities in cell and molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and other health science disciplines to medical students, undergraduates, and graduate students from other graduate programs at the University of Hawaii. Entry requirements for University of Hawaii - Manoa
Undergraduate GPA 3.0 or above and a minimum of 60th percentile subscores for each of the General GRE categories.To be eligible, an applicant must hold or expect to hold prior to matriculation a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, or an equivalent degree from a recognized non-U.S. institution of higher education. A minimum TOEFL score of 500/61 (paper/internet) or IELTS overall band test result of 6.00 is required.
