About the course

The Graduate School invites you to explore degrees that allow you to integrate knowledge, research, and training from more than one department or discipline. Students in this program pursue innovative combinations of coursework to build the expertise necessary to conduct unique interdisciplinary research projects.

　　We offer an M.A. and an M.S., as well as a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies, one of only a few dozen universities in the U.S. that does so.

How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Montana

i) Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum 3.0 GPA.

　　ii) GRE score with a test date that is within the past five years OR verifiable GRE scores if the test date is over five years old.

　　iii) The TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB are also required of international applicants and may substitute for the GRE upon approval of prospective graduate committee.

　　iv) The student must develop a plan of study in consultation with their prospective graduate committee. Details of such plan of study are found in section 5.

　　Applicants scoring higher than 550 on the TOEFL PBT (the TOEFL PBT is no longer administered as of October 2017), the replacement TOEFL-Paper Delivered Test will be accepted in place of the PBT, 80 on the TOEFL IBT or 6.5 on the may be unconditionally admitted to a university graduate program, provided they meet that program's application standards.
