About the course

The Drama program offers students a well-balanced base of theatre education and opportunities to perform in, design, build, and run theatrical productions. The Drama program provides an environment where students can develop a passion for the theatre as both an art form and a mechanism for growth, expression, and change. It allows students to become more creative in all aspects of life, appreciate how the theatre arts is applicable to our everyday lives, develop skills in collaboration, communication, and critical thinking, and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to continue theatre studies at a 4-year university. You will learn the basics of theatre production, (including acting, designing and building sets, costumes, makeup, props, lighting, and sound, how directors work, and the process of rehearsing and performing a play,) as well as the rich history of Theatre.
